Shoe Care
Smooth Leather
Before wearing your new shoes, we recommend applying a leather waterproofing spray. This will protect your shoes from water absorption and prevent water-based stains. To maintain suppleness and softness, use a conditioner or neutral polish to nourish the leather, adding moisture and providing an additional layer of protection.
Nubuck and Suede Leather
Nubuck features a velvety texture due to buffing the grain side of the leather, creating a soft, napped surface. It also retains natural leather markings, giving it a rougher appearance than suede. Suede, on the other hand, is softer as it is produced from the inner side of the leather, sanded and buffed to remove impurities.
Both nubuck and suede require regular waterproofing. Prior to wear, apply a leather waterproofing spray to guard against water absorption and prevent water-based stains. Regular brushing is essential for maintaining these leathers. Use a suitable brush to gently remove dirt and restore the nap, keeping the leather looking fresh and vibrant.
Patent Leather
Patent leather is coated to achieve a glossy, shiny finish. To reduce creases formed from walking, applying castor oil can be effective. When cleaning patent leather, avoid saturating it with water. Instead, use soapy water and a new sponge to clean the surface. Follow up by applying a suitable moisturiser to keep the leather looking its best.
Metallic Leather
Metallic leather is created by applying a laminate coating over a piece of leather. To clean, use a soft damp cloth. To enhance lustre and maintain the finish, buff with a leather cream and a soft, clean cloth.
