Shoe Care Instructions
smooth leather
Prior to wearing your new shoes, we recommend that you use a leather waterproof spray. This will guard your shoes against water absorption and prevent water based stains. A conditioner or neutral polish will nourish your shoes and add moisture allowing the leather to remain supple and soft. This also provides another layer of protection.
nubuck and suede leather
Nubuck has a velvety texture due to the buffing that is done on the grain side of the leather during the production process. The buffing creates a soft napped surface. Nubuck also has natural leather markings, giving it a rougher look than suede.
Suede is much softer than nubuck as it is produced from the inner side of the leather. It is sanded down and buffed to remove all impurities.
Both leathers require regular waterproofing. Prior to wear, we recommend that you use a leather waterproof spray. This will guard against water absorption and prevent water based stains.
A good brush is a must when caring for suede and nubuck. Regular brushing is an easy and an effective way to care for your suede and nubuck shoes.
patent leather
Patent leather is a type of coated leather that has a very glossy, shiny finish. Applying castor oil is a great way to reduce the creases formed as a result of walking.
When cleaning patent leather, be sure not to saturate the leather with water. We recommend using soapy water and a new sponge to clean the leather. Next, use a solvent to remove stains and finish off by applying a moisturiser. Your patent leather shoes will have never have looked so good!
metallic leather
Metallic leather is made by putting a laminate coating over a piece of leather. We recommend you clean your metallic leather product with a soft damp cloth. To add lustre and maintain the finish, buff with a leather cream and a soft clean cloth.
